The Ellis Rugby Vintage Polo Shirt. The design of this Polo Shirt features the vintage Irish Crest as well as Ellis Rugby branding. The vintage Irish Crest is featured on the left chest of this Polo Shirt with Ellis Rugby branding on the arm. 1875 was to feature Ireland's first international Rugby game. Playing against England, Ireland lost 7-0. Ireland would be the host nation for the first all-ticket international Rugby match in 1905. Unfortunately the game ended 15-0 in favour of New Zealand. Ireland reached the final game of the 1926 Five Nations Championship as undefeated, however Ireland lost in the final game to Wales. Although missing out on the Grand Slam Ireland had amassed enough points to draw with Scotland for the Championship title. Ireland and Scotland drew for the title again in 1927. Ireland once again just missed ut on the Grand Slam after a narrow lose to England. In 1948, inspired by tactician and fly-half Jack Kyle, Ireland beat France in Paris, England at Twickenham and a 6-0 win over Scotland at Lansdowne Road. Manufactured from 100% chunky pique cotton. This Irish Rugger Polo Shirt features detailed embroidery on the vintage Irish Crest, contrast inner placket, arms and collar stand. Also included on this garment is herringbone detail on the vents and velvet tape on the neck opening.
