It can burn if it’s too thin, left in the oven too long, or baked at too high of a temperature. Now, Arteza has very conflicting directions (on the listing, on the box, and on their own website) so it’s hard to know which directions are correct. The listing says “bake at 275F for 15 minutes per 1/4 inch thickness”, the box says “bake at 325F for 15 minutes per 1/4 inch thickness”, and the website says “bake at 266F for 15 minutes per 1/4 inch thickness”. I’ve worked with polymer clay for over 20 years and I know that 325F is way too high for baking polymer clay (it will burn before it hardens). I’d recommend starting at 266F and increase the temperature if needed, but don’t go any higher than 275F. **Q: Let's say a coffee mug was made from this, would it be dishwasher safe or handwash only?** A: You can not make a mug from this and use it for food or drink. It is not food safe, it is not dishwasher safe. It is for decoration only. **Q: bake in a regular (or toaster) oven?** A: I bake in toaster oven & it works great! As long as you can control the temperature. I use it outside to keep the fumes out of house.
