The ones that come with the unit says they are for brick only (hmmm - wonder how many of those purchased are mounted to a brick wall? Maybe block. In any case if you use every screw hole in the rails and 4-each for the panels, that's 88 anchors you have to provide, assuming you aren't lucky enough to hit studs regularly or you don't necessarily want to secure the rails with 12 screws each (times 6 rails). It comes reasonably well packaged (made in China and shipped in that cheap Chinese cardboard). Only one of my panels was dented and it was very slight which didn't cause a functional problem. Because you are hanging 10 separate pieces, be prepared to spend at least an hour or more on this project. I started with a level bottom rail and built the pegboard up relying on the leveled first row. Because it is well anchored to the wall (studs and anchors) I think it will hold its own. I am happy with the purchase and how it works and looks, but it is pricey. However the paint is very durable - I had to make a cutout on the bottom rail to go around a surface mounted outlet box and clamped it down in my bench vice to do the cutting. No scratches - which amazed me (I protected the visible part, but the back was unprotected). On thing I did find odd is that the rails are exactly 24" long and about 3/8" - 1/2" longer than the panels when mounted side-by-side. Go figure. Depending on the screw you choose, you probably don't need a drill bit. If you're using the screws in the bags, I would highly recommend getting proper wall anchors, as the instructions state the anchors included with the product are for anchoring into cinder block or concrete. I would NOT hang this unit on drywall with their anchors - basically junk. Try something like this instead... https://www.amazon.com/Quality-Plastic-Drilling-Drywall-Together/dp/B016APV7SM/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=wall+anchors&qid=1555346577&s=gateway&sr=8-3. (I think you can buy this type of anchor in bulk without screws and use the ones included). I usually drill a pilot hole in the drywall with an 11/64" drill bit, but that also depends on the size of the proper anchor you choose. If you use all mounting holes for the black pieces (6 panels x 16 holes each) and 4 screws each for the 4 gray panels you will need a total of 112 drywall anchors, assuming you don't anchor into any studs. I thought 16 screws each for the black panels was overkill, so i went with 10. That would bring the necessary anchors down to 76, again assuming you don't anchor into any studs. Bit type and size on your drill driver/screw driver will depend on the screws you choose to use. One other thing... Don't count on putting pegs in the top row of holes on the grey panels. The pegs hit the interior metal border and won't insert properly **Q: Where do I buy additional shelves? I don't see any on Amazon.** A: Given how great their customer service is, I would recommend contacting them to see about ordering additional shelves. **Q: will this work on 24 inch centered studs?** A: I do not think so. Sturdy and looks great. Two things kept it from 5 stars. 1) Be prepared for the panels to come dinged and dented. They are easy enough to repair to decent shape which is what I did rather than a return based on other reviews indicating the replacement may come the same way or worse. 2) They should make the peg board panels wider to match the rails. It’s a pain to line them up on studs and you must have a gap between panels to even hit studs. Fortunately I was mounting to exposed studs. Good luck installing over drywall. Other than that it’s a good set for the money.
