These jeans sit just right over my shoes and do not hit the floor. I wear my Ariat and Dansko clogs with jeans in winter. (Too hot here for jeans most of the year.) The straight leg fit is flattering and they sit at my belly button -- which is high waisted in my opinion even though they are labeled mid-rise. These jeans stay up! My 314s and I constantly battled as the waist would always slip and I'd yank them back up into place. These new jeans are soft but are still denim, look like denim, and the waist band is comfortable. They are plenty long enough, I am not tall or short so I can't imagine what really short people do about jeans because these almost touch the floor on me. I carry all of my weight in my stomach, if I didn't I could have easily sized down. These do have some stretch, and they are not the typical levi's heavy jeans which is exactly what I wanted. They are excellent quality, very stylish and fit nicely. I do recommend getting these jeans! Hopefully I can work on my stomach and get another pair or two in a smaller size!!
