Review: Awesome tent - kept us completely dry in the horrendous Welsh wind and rain - For the price, this is a fantastic tent - really good value. It's meant for more people (I think 5), however we used it as a 3 person so had plenty of room. The porch entrance is a decent size with a couple of entrances and the tent itself is really simple and quick to put up. Fairly lightweight, although we didn't really carry it anywhere as it can be a little bulky and just pitched it next to the car. First outing was to Wales last year, where it absolutely hammered down with rain and wind for a few days. No problem at as the inside stayed completely dry with no leaks and kept the inside at a nice ambient temperature. Can't recollect any issues with condensation either. The only recommendation I would have would just be an inside roof loop/hanger for a light in the bedroom area, as we had to hook ours to above the door. Apart from that, I'd highly recommend!

It's not massively tall, I'm 1.7m and I have to stoop slightly in the tent but that is the only slight downside. I expect it to last for years because its well made. Can't wait for my next trip.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: In the diagram, it looks like it has extra storage at the back of the tent - accessed through the sleeping bit?**
A: No it doesnt. Just a sleep compartment and the front porch area.

**Q: Does the linked in groundsheet ensure that the porch does not flood?**
A: it doesn't flood when doors are shut but the angle of the side door means you clip the top of the door way as you try to get out and this then tips a load of water into the tent and I wouldn't leave the front door open long in the rain. What doesn't happen is the rain doesn't drive in to the tent with the wind.

**Q: what is the hydrostatic ?? is it double skinned??**
A: The hydrostatic head is 3000 mm, and the tent comprises an outer tent, with inner sleeping compartment.  This is an excellent spacious tent with really good features, we took camping on Dartmoor for a family of 4 and it was excellent.

**Q: Does the apollo 500 have a fully sewn in ground sheet**
A: the porch area is not sewn in

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good basic tent (as long as the weather's not too bad)

This is a good basic tent at a reasonable price - it's fairly large, although I'd question whether 5 normal people would sleep in it. I bought it for me, my wife and 3 yr old son to use and it was just about the right size for us and a small amount of equipment. It 's very easy to get set up - i did it on my own the first time in about 20 minutes and got that down to about 10 with a bit of help. Only used it so far in the summer and apart from a couple of light showers it's not really been put to the test in bad weather. Whilst there were no signs of it leaking - I'm not sure it would cope with persistent heavy rain / wind over any great length of time. If you're after something relatively large at a reasonable price to use over the summer then I'd recommend this - however you'd probably want to spend a bit more if you're going to be doing any serious camping.
