We've been using the hand sharpeners and they just haven't been cutting it, literally. So, it was time for an upgrade to a full electric sharpener.There are plenty of electric pencil sharpeners on the market, but I decided to go with the Office Pro because of the great reviews and also the portability of being battery powered.The sharpener itself does a great job at what it's supposed to do. The stainless steel helical blade does a great job and puts a great point on a variety of different pencil types. It has a great auto stop feature that will shut off the sharpener after the pencil is sharpened. To me this is a great feauture, so that little ones don't sit there and let the thing eat up pencils. The motor is powerful enough and not too loud. It has rubber feet on the bottom that keep the sharpener in place while in use. The reservoir is easy to empty, and the sharpener itself will auto shut off if the reservoir gets opened while in use, which is a nice safety feature.The best feauture in my opinion is that it is cordless. This was the biggest reason why I bought this model. It does require 4 AA batteries, which are included. I like the idea of the kids being able to use the sharpener at the table while doing their homework, and then it can be put up out of the way after use. The portability is nice.Build quality is great and has worked awesome so far. 5 stars ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Good solid sharpener that works *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2016* I am a dad, trying to buy a basic pencil sharpener that works. This one does, so far. I've sharpened only 4 pencils. But I can see that this sharpener is different from others I've tried. First of all, the sharpener is weighty and substantial, which means that it has enough weight to move the pencil through the sharpener and not the other way around. Secondly, the motor is far more powerful than your average sharpener. It doesn't wheeze just to get through a single sharpening. Your pencil is sharpened in just a few seconds. Third, I can tell by the fine shavings that the blades are sharp. Fourth, it doesn't eat your pencil like other sharpeners do. It works quickly and efficiently. Fifth, it doesn't oversharpen, which inevitably leads to broken pencil points and need for more sharpening, resulting in eating the pencil beyond its usefulness. Sixth, it has a modest footprint, about 3" x 2", so I don't mind keeping it on my desk.My sole quibble is that I wish it had a plug in option.But bottom line, the sharpener works well so far.Update (12/15/16): Unlike the advertisement on Amazon, my box does not contain a "Lifetime Warranty" decal. And nowhere on the box or in writing does it make mention of that. In fact, in small writing on the User's Manual it says: "Product life: 3000 times". This is concerning. I want the lifetime warranty that was advertised. OfficePro, please send me a lifetime warranty sticker.Update (12/15/16): Spoke to customer service at Amazon. Apparently, the "Lifetime Replacement Guarantee" is an Amazon offering, and not an OfficePro offering and that the decal on the box was placed there by Amazon for advertising purposes only. I found it!I love that there are no sharp edges, so tiny hands are safe. It's battery operated, so is portable with no cables to get tangled. It is much lighter than my previous one, yet does not move around when in use. In terms of battery usage it is lasting very well, I purchased it in June and have not had to change any of the 4xAA batteries at all. My last sharpener had a black container where the shavings dropped into, which meant having to guess how full it was, and carefully opening it, usually with some spillage, (especially if kids were opening it!), but the shavings of this sharpener are collected in a see-through container underneath, so you can see the fullness.Things don't last like they used to and I often feel I am replacing household products frequently, so it is reassuring to see they offer a Lifetime Replacement Guarantee, so any issues can be addresses and replaced.
