It says all over the box “do not swallow” so that’s just a design flaw in my opinion. Second, package does not come with any instructions so please refer to the various reviews for info so you know what to expect. Third, it takes a long time! 1-3 hours to hatch and we waited 24 hrs longer for growth but not much to speak of. Once you take out of the water, it is slimy. When it dries out some shrinking is normal so it kinda ends up being the size it was before it hatched.
