I loved Those Pricey Thakur Girls and was really looking forward ...
I loved Those Pricey Thakur Girls and was really looking forward to this one. While Chauhan's writing style is as fresh and entertaining as ever, this book didn't really hold me. The plot was well crafted and fun, and as ever, even the smallest of characters was well-rounded.For some reason though, it is hard to empathise with Bonu. She's a real character, flaws and all, but her choices and attitude didn't appeal to me and I don't do very well with books where I dislike the protagonist. Samar is the quintessential hero, honourable and decent. But I notice that many authors tend to make their women a lot more flawed (and even real) than their men. What is it that drives them to so? Is it only typical to women writers? I'm not sure. All in all, a fun, quick read even if it's not up to the high standards that Chauhan has set for herself.

A well written entertaining read
A very entertaining read with just the right amount of 'hinglish'!. The protagonist Bonu Singh was fiesty and funny and the other characters were surprisingly well etched out too. Will definitely try the author s other works

Super Sequel
It was fun reading the sequel . Anuja Chauhan retains her ability to create family drama in such a charming manner. Although Debjani Dylan romance far better than Samar & Bonu.

quite gripping
It's specially readable for people like us who live in Delhi/ Gurgaon. My daughter had been waiting with great anticipation for this book after reading 'Those Pricey Thakur Girls'.

Laugh- a- minute Mills & Boons
Anuja's novels have a feel good theme, A bit of laughter, an underlying theme of romance and overall setting of sisterhood/family. One of my favorite modern English language Indian writers. I read this book over 1 long blissful weekend. Read this novel as trademark Anuja Classic.

Romance Amidst Family Drama
This is a cute story. The Characters are likable, the plot twist interesting, the romance is predictable. Good humor throughout the story. Ending left me slightly disappointed, but I guess "all's well that ends well."

Great sequel.
Was looking forward to this book after reading Those Pricey Thakur Girls and it does not disappoint. All loose ends are neatly tucked away, beloved characters dusted off and general mirth abounds. Very good read.

The House that BJ Built
Book review 14:..The house that BJ built by Anuja chauhan..Foreword . This book is humongous., a good 410 pages which is boon for bookworms but then again might take really long to finish. It is a sequel to the book those pricey Thakur girls by the same author. The cover shows Eashwari, the youngest arrogant and belligerent, as always protecting the ubiquitous street mongrel. .About the book: If you've read the first book you will smile that the protagonist bj Thakur has chosen to name his5 daughters a-anjini b-binodini c-chandrakanta d-debjanu and e-eshwari.., perhaps among the most interesting thing in the book. While the girls and their whims are introduced in the prequel, this one deals with with the later half of the girls lives. Bonu., the daughter of now dead Binodini doesn't want to sell the ancestral home, though her four aunts are persistent. The love angle is in the form of Samar vir singh her eldest aunts adopted boy.. How the madness unfolds and whether they go about convincing the ballsy bonu is for you to read and find out. Id say, the story drags out, so pick this one when on a long long holidayTakeaway : Money is the master indeed. When it comes to moolah, all relationships are conveniently forgotten or disregarded, all cunning brought to the fore, all scruples thrown to the wind. Charming no?.Rating :⭐⭐average ..

Ain't as good as what Anuja has written earlier
Ain't as good as what Anuja has written earlier. Added an extra rating for the humourous quotient of the book.‘It’s an Aur Jee,’ Biren Tring explains to her kindly. ‘An Aur Jee is a very big, sexy party, in case you didn’t know. The main punch of the quwaali is…’He trails off, looking expectantly at the fat, south Bombay 3rd AD, who screws up his eyes and reads out, in a slightly pained voice"There are many such snippets that make it for a racy read but the story ain't that strong. Or maybe the author has not really provided solid grounds for Bonu to be that adamant. She behaved like a teenager throughout the story where she should have behaved like an adult. Given what Anuja has written earlier, this doesn't come close to what she is capable of writing.

Liked it. Highly recommended.
I liked it a lot. It was nice revisiting the characters I fell in love with in Those Pricey Thakur Girls. It is a nice sequel. I had an great time reading this book. I liked the primary love story between Bonu and Samar, but it didn't blow me away. I wanted a little more, considering how much I loved their chemistry in Those Pricey Thakur Girls, when they were kids. But that's a minor peeve. The one thing I loved best about this book was the relationship between Satish and Eshwari. I LOVED them. So much. After the ending in Those Pricey Thakur Girls, I was desperate to know about the outcome of their relationship. I was blown away by their romance in this book. Oh Satish...he is so cool. I liked Satish as a kid in the first book, but in this book, he killed me with his charm. Chachi was so funny. I liked seeing Dylan (my BAE) with his kids. One thing I missed was Anant. I wish we saw more of him in this book.Overall, I really liked this book. Not my favourite Anuja Chauhan book (Those Pricey Thakur Girls is my favourite), but certainly a great book.

A wonderful read!
It was a wonderful read. Anuja Chauhan didn't disappoint. This was another humorous rom-com filled with drama and many laugh-out-loud moments. Some of the dialogues are effortlessly hilarious. Drama kings and queens reign in the book. I found myself rooting for some of the characters that I did not like in 'Those Pricey Thakur girls' like Anjini. I was suspicious of the B and N Trings but liked the way it all turned out.Bonu Singh and Samar is well etched.Recommended to all those who love a rom-com and those who won't mind reading some clever Hinglish in between.

Perfect :)
Hi Everyone ,If you have read the review for "Those Pricy Thakur Girls" , then you would know that I absolutely loved the book . "The House That BJ Built" is a squeal of "Those Pricy Thakur Girls" and I read it mainly because I was pretty impressed with the first one .In this one , everyone have grown up .Anjini , the eldest of all works in a publishing firm and of course her adopted son Samar is a successful director. Binodini along with her husband and son meets with an accident when they are rushing to ask BJ for more money as Vickiji's business has met with failure again. Bonu Singh is the only one who survives in the accident and is taken care by her grandparents . Bonu starts making copies of famous clothings worn by celebrities in her area for cheaper price and she instantly becomes successful. Chandu has joined this new movement called as " Poor is the new rich" in New York where she feels she has found her spiritual side. Debjani has become sucessful in her field as well and she has two kids Pow and Pasta with Dylan ( yeah !! the guy with the cute butt ). Eshu , has become an athlete in New York and she wants to open her own treaking firm .The whole fiasco happens after Bhudevi dies , BJ starts looking his memory and he gets moody . He faces dementia but he makes sure he writes of the will properly . Also he confirms with all the girls if they have torn out the copy of the document 93 ? What is that you ask ? You have to read that for yourself.BJ eventually dies and this 200 crore property gets inherited by the 5 ladies and Samar . Bonu refuses to sell the portion she has as none of the aunts were willing to sell it when her mother needed some money . Now they have a new problem , Ashok Thakur ( BJ's brother) claims that BJ was not his real brother and instead his mother was pregnant before she was married , so he reopens the case that he applied for long time back and claims the property. Now , parallely Samar is making a movie called "Thakur Saab" which is nothing but a story on the Thakur family. Pushkar Thakur and Pushkarni loved each other but since they have got married , Pushkar leaves all his bad habits and Pushkarni is killed so that it affects Pushkar ( a plan made by one of the loan sharks)Samar finds out that this story might not be as true as he though . Unless the mystery is solved he cannot work on the film . In short , his filming is delayed and his career is jeopardize. He returns to get the true story and also ends up falling in love with Bonu .Bonu had a crush on him when they were kids and she made sure he knows about it . Now , she doesn't know if it is ok to talk to him because if she does she might end up looking like a teenager who has a crush .The whole story revoles around the property dispute and if they sort it or not .Personally , the second book is much much much better than the first one . I love the way Anuja writes . She pays attention to small details and thats something I always liked in an author.Read it if you want something light . I would definitely read both of them again .
