My 3 star rating is because the dress is a close facsimile of the garment in the product photos and description, reasonably well-made and comfortable, but is different enough to lose my interest in actually wearing it. Details:Fit/Sizing - I am 5'8" tall, typically a US women's size 6. I liked the design and knew it was too short for me as a dress, but thought I could pull it off as a cardigan or tunic w/ leggings. Ordered Small, which is looser than expected - Sleeves and armpits are extra roomy. Sleeves are also a little short, a common issue for me, so I pushed them up. Straight cut in body; and because the shape is big too, the belt doesn't cinch in effectively because the fabric will bunch and billow at the waist (my photo I tied belt loosely to avoid bunching but my waist gets lost anyway because of the straight fit). I tried wearing this several ways- with belt, buttoned and unbuttoned (see photos), and also without the belt (I just tied in back to see). I like buttoned and belted best, but because of the baggy fit, the details look busy rather than interesting or sophisticated; lots of white lines, lots of big gold buttons, and the buttons right by the armpits (faux pockets) is odd. The belt sash is very long so that adds bulk and looks saggy. If there was a closer, contoured fit, with a shorter belt to make a perkier bowknot it wouldn't be so overwhelming (more like model photos). Either way the armpit buttons/faux pockets could be omitted. It's possible in a lighter color version with less contrast, the details wouldn't be overkill.Materials/Construction - The knit is fine, solid and feels nice. No problems with stitching but one side of the neckline is a little wonky, bumps out inexplicably, not that noticeable.
