I was skeptical about these, but after a number of months these are still almost like new. I even use them with those tea bags you fill and the top of the tea bag goes over the edge. I thought they might damage the seal, but after hundreds of cups of coffee and tea, the seal is still as good as new. These are better than the original lids that came with the cups, so much so that when I got some new coffee cups I tossed the originals and am ordering more of these.The coffee cups I have are the newer designed Thomas Hammer stainless steel, (they don't replace the old black Thomas hammer lids unfortunately, those cups are an odd size and slightly smaller) and some cheap Walmart 20 oz stainless steel cups.{EDIT} Well, I am editing my review. I purchased a second set of 20oz lids and received 30oz lids (should of just returned them but... 1st one cracked within a week. 2nd one lasted 2 days. I am on the 3rd one now. Did something change??I do still need the 20oz lids, so I will try again, but if I receive 30oz lids or the new 20oz lids crack, stars will disappear from this review quickly.{Edit2} Something must have changed. I got this third set of lids, They were the right size this time, 20oz. BUT they all failed and cracked within a week! What a disappointment. They must have changed the plastic or something because these are worthless. With the straws provided, it would only drip some as long as you picked it up quick. However I had some slightly thicker straws from another one and when I used those she could knock it over and it wouldn’t get but maybe a single drop from what was already in the straw. Not even once did the lid come off, but it was easy enough for her to get it off to refill it even with arthritic hands. I only took a star away because of the fit of the straws provided was not as good of a leak proof seal as a slightly bigger straw would be. We also live on a bumpy dirt road so a full cup of coffee with the original lids can make a mess! These lids don't fit quite as deeply as the originals (about 1/8" shallower), but they fit snugly. I LOVE the straw hole and the drink hole with the tight seal. Nice to have both. I can't wait to test it on the road now!! I'm thinking these will not only be less messy, but they'll also insulate better and are much easier to clean. Yay!!
