A: Yes, the locks are designed for easy removal. For best results use alcohol or dental floss to loosen the adhesive. They typically won’t damage paint or surfaces, but we recommend testing a small, hidden area first.

**Q: Do I need any tools or drills for installation? Are the locks visible once installed?**
A: No tools are required—our locks install easily with strong 3M adhesive. For a more permanent hold, especially if adults might forget the locks are there and pull hard, optional screws are included. Once installed, the locks are completely hidden.

**Q: Some locks aren’t staying locked. Is this a defect?**
A: Not necessarily. In some cases, metal cabinet knobs or their screws can become magnetized and interfere with the lock activating. Try moving the lock about half an inch away from the knob—this usually fixes the issue!

**Q: My drawers don’t close properly with the lock. How can I fix this?**
A: No worries! For inset drawers, our included alignment ruler helps you place the catcher deep enough so the drawer closes smoothly. In some cases, mounting the lock sideways works best—it still functions perfectly and keeps little hands out!

We had the original magnetic locks (not this brand) 15+ years ago when our youngest was a toddler. While they worked great, the unlocking magnets weren’t very strong so you had to drill a fairly large hole into the inside of your cabinet door and set the lock in it. It was a ton of work, and I didn’t like that you had to damage the cabinets to install them.Now that we are childproofing for our grandbaby I was dreading having to do all of that again, so I was thrilled to discover these locks that are the “new and improved” version of what we had! I was very impressed with the strength of the magnet that unlocks easily through my 1” thick cabinet doors, and the very strong double sided tape has been wonderful. It was so nice not to have to screw in all of the pieces, and since it is a very renter friendly design we also plan to gift a set to our son and daughter-in-law for the home they are moving into soon.But hands down my favorite thing about these is the installation cradle. It makes placement and installation so quick and easy! I was able to install all that I needed in my kitchen and dining room during my lunch hour and everything was ready to go for the next day when our grandbaby came to visit. As an added bonus, they are also keeping our very curious cat out of the cupboards too.Very pleased with this product and definitely will buy again!

Love our new Magnetic Baby Proofing lock system. We have a macaw parrot who likes to open our cabinets and throw items out of them. This product has reduced so many messes since installation! Can't recommend enough! Great product and easy to install. You can either stick them to cabinets or screw them in. They provide both and give extras! They are discreet and function well. Not hard to get used to using, either. Thank you, thank you!
