The cap seals well but you've got to be awake enough to be sure to hear the "click" sound AND that you must be sure it clicks all around the lid. This is NOT a major problem once you've had it spill!BTW, I use the other one on my office desk as a water bottle. I have several medical field professionals in my boutique tax practice (a pulmonologist customer gave one to me originally as a gag) and it drives them wild when I nonchalantly lift the cap and take a swig out of it!!!
