I included how the cake looked when the rod was removed, and in the last picture, you can see the inside of the finished cake; it baked all the way through with no undercooked areas. My 5 year old daughter was actually struck silent. Truly flabbergasted. Did I feel weird buying something called a "heating rod" and sticking it in a mixing bowl? Yes.
