I was developing the beginning of some problems using the saddle that originally came with my bike. Not enough padding and felt rock hard in short. This additional padding makes the saddle feel just great. It beefs up the saddle a noticeable amount but the saddle is still visibly a road bike saddle - this doesn’t turn it into a behemoth of a saddle like you’d just tied a sofa cushion to your bike or anything dumb like that. It adds significant padding where you need it - the rear end mainly - with a modest little extra padding at the front. There is a cut- out groove/channel thing so if your own saddle has a cut out, this will allow the groove to remain functional. I’m using this on an indoor bike which is sometimes ride to work so when the weather improves, I think I’ll probably just leave it on there for outdoor rides too. The Velcro strap arrangement is really good, you can fix it very firmly as the straps (in fact the whole pad) are somewhat elasticated. If you’re doing long sessions - on the bike I hasten to add before you start smirking - you’ll want to remove it after to let it air dry. Done that a good few times now and no nasty odours although I think I’ll throw it in the wash every now and again for peace of mind. It comes with a waterproof cover, which I don’t think I’ll ever use. This product was toward the cheaper end of those available and I wouldn’t choose any other.
