I have been using this new Diathrive meter for just under 2 weeks. Very nice kit. Has everything needed . Took me only a couple of minutes for initial setup using the included documentation. I would very much recommend this kit to anyone, including someone new to glucose monitoring.Readings have been consistent with each other and with the readings I had been getting with my prior meter. I love the fact that this meter can show averages over different time periods; 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days. Nice to be able to compare recent vs. longer term trends.Accuracy is not something that I can easily measure. The Diathrive website states that this meter "exceeds FDA standards for accuracy". I find the FDA standards to be lax. Very minor complaint that meter does not have a standard USB (or micro USB) connector. One would need to purchase a special cable; which is available from Diathrive, but not here at Amazon. Not expensive, but a minor annoyance. to have to order elsewhere. (I am in the habit of manually logging my readings as my prior meter did not have a download option at all. While it would be nice to download to a Windows computer, this is not a must-have for me.) [Conjecture ON: Perhaps this is one way that Diathrive can keep the cost of this meter down; no need to pay the royalty for a USB connector on every single meter that many people would never use.... ] Bonus points to Diathrive for their website; which includes lots of educational info (including a detailed discussion about accuracy of glucometers). Company seems to have a philosophy to provide quality care at an affordable price.
