You're supposed to be able to heat it on the stove bc it's cast iron, but if there is more than about 3 oz of water in it, when it reaches a boil, it shoots boiling water out of the spout like a literal geyser. Just wish it came complete with a trivet (although they do sell the matching one separately, so it's not that big a deal).
