It was so much better. I am used to getting the one time use rain poncho, that last about one use. This one however is really nice. I love that it has velcro at the arms keeping the rain poncho from flying off. The good has a drawstring that keeps the hood in place. This poncho is also used as a water proof picnic blanket. This rolls up and comes in a small carrying bag that is easy to carry.
