I have no idea why but it is the first one I bought that had that feature .It also has a couple of adjustable red clips so you can set them to a value once the filter is backwashed. The second one you set in what pressure you want to indicate when it is time to backwash. Again a feature that I have not seen on my other purchases . So far after a month the gauge works fine.
