The Silvia consists of layers of petals of polypropylene to redirect and soften the light, eliminating glare. The thin but extremely durable leaves Fan outward from the center, eventually tapering slightly at the base in order to shield the interior light source. This is a really pretty lamp. It gives off a nice glowing light. Not kind fond of the "tail" between the legs, but it's as you see. You have to assemble it yourself. And I don't know what to do if we have to move, but for now I am enjoying it.
