It will damage the lamps if allowed to blink very long.They wont blink if wired directly to black and white (follow included instructions) The black wire coming in should be cut close to ballast and then "wire-nutted" all together with all wires going to lamp socket(s) on EITHER end. Did exactly what I wanted them to do. I'm now running LED bulbs in every single light in my woodshop. The difference from these and fluorescents is amazing.
