It is rated for 5 amps@12 volt, but running it at a continuous 2.7 amps(as measured on my ammeter) caused it to heat up to the point where it started to produce an acrid smelling smoke. Had I not noticed this the house could have started on fire. Do not buy, it is not capable of safetly doing what it is rated at on the sticker. It will supply about 3.5 Amps continuous and runs very cool at 3 amps or less which is about right. The review where the guy was drawing 5 amps continuously and then saying it is no good is nonsense! Power supplies are usually always rated by peak capability, not continuous. He should know that but he apparently doesn't. I am an Extra class amateur radio operator and also did military comms for the US Army and do a lot of my own work on my radio equipment. I use this supply to drive a small class T stereo amp into high end Paradigm stereo speakers.
