Review: Love it! - I've been looking for an alcohol alternative, and I'm really enjoying Hard Ketones Dr. Up. I ordered this one because it has no sweeteners (I don't like stevia, and am not sure if sucralose is keto friendly). I tried a small amount without Dr.ing it and it's not the worst thing I've tasted, but I wouldn't make it through a can if I drank it straight - it's certainly not enjoyable (tasted like drinking some kind of chemical astringent perhaps). However, I barely taste it by mixing it with a can of ginger beer and lime juice. But I know taste varies from person to person. I definitely feel a bit buzzed after 2 to 3 cans, and while it's a little different than alcohol, I'm pleased with it. If it keeps me away from alcohol, I'll be ecstatic with it. I'll update as I go, but so far I get to feel good without guilt and no hangover. Grateful!

**Q: I thought ketones were for performance?**
A: Some marketers hijack Ketone Ester data to falsely advertise Diol for performance. The truth is Diol gets you buzzed and has clinically shown nil to negative effects on performance. However, euphoria is reported. For performance get KetoneAid Ester.

**Q: Why not use sugar to make it taste better?**
A: We value function over flavor. Sugar is an inferior food sourse, will kick you out of ketosis and is linked to many, many, many health issues. That said, Ketohol itself is inherently nasty tasting. We do a pretty good job covering it up without it.

**Q: What if I don't feel a buzz?**
A: Everyone's physiology is different. About 20% of people report not feeling the buzz. Please note that it may be less effective if you have a high alcohol tolerance & that Ketohol will not work for people taking SSRIs or kratom. Best on empty stomach.

Well I blame myself for the flavor. I selected Dr. Up, because I thought it was named for Dr. Pepper or 7up. Nope, it is an unflavored “Bartender’s base”, inexplicably named. But I assure you no amount of mixer or flavoring can make this taste like you aren’t drinking straight lighter fluid. But I wouldn’t even drop stars for it being disgustingly. It simply doesn’t do much. I would describe the “buzz” as a faint throbbing bloated feeling in your brain. And at 7 bucks a can it’s not a sustainable drink of choice even if it was more enjoyable If you just have to have some kind of buzz, then it’s worth a try. But it’s a tough sell.
