Hand wash in woolite or in a mesh laundry bag on the gentle cycle and it will wear nicely for a long time. Not terribly see-through. Fabric is stretchy and soft. I would say this dress is more of a breast feeding friendly dress, not necessarily a dress specifically designed for nursing. I say this because one breast panel is very easy to peal back (because it is the outer panel). The inner panel takes a little more effort and stretching. Not a big deal, but it is what knocks a star off since a fussy baby and a challenging panel would be a rough combo.
