## Description

Avicennia germinans, the black mangrove, is a shrub or small tree growing up to 12 meters (39 feet) in the acanthus family, Acanthaceae. It grows in tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, on both the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts, and on the Atlantic Coast of tropical Africa, where it thrives on the sandy and muddy shores where seawater reaches. It is common throughout coastal areas of Texas and Florida, and ranges as far north as southern Louisiana and coastal Georgia in the United States.

Review: They look great! - I have no clue how they will do in my fresh water tank, but I figured it would be worth a shot. Shipping was regular snail mail, so that had me worried, but they looked great upon arrival. They were in a sealed bag and looked good from top to bottom. 2 of them had huge root systems and those have already grown some in the few days I’ve had them. The other 3 looked like the stock photos in size, but roots actually looked better with lots of fuzzy white tips. Mine had all the leaves up top and not down the main stem, but that’s fine with me. One had some holes in some of the leaves, but again, no big deal to me. I just washed them up and got them in the aquarium for now mixed with a few small Monstera plants and some pothos clippings. I’ll probably split them off and give them some brighter light when I get a chance.
Review: Well packaged - Plants were well packaged. Wrapped in a wet paper towel and seal in a plastic bag to retain moisture also has a hand warmer in box to keep temp up. Only complaint is 4 completely dead plants when package arrived.
