This allows you to figure out where studs might be found for your favorite location. Use a rare earth solid magnet to locate drywall nails/screws in the studs. Recommend drilling pilot holes for the lag bolts to avoid splitting the wood stud. Also, it makes installing the bolts a lot easier. I misplaced the instruction sheet. Note to self, don't panic. The mount can be found on the internet. Later, I found the instructions under the box (be kind). This is good mount that works as advertised. Keep the instructions on the box - not under it.
