I installed it upside down to give the additional height. Easy install and the product includes a gift for registering. I had to slide the spare tire over to make room but installing this was simple! I installed it on top of the bumper to give more clearance to my bike rack and it has worked great!One annoyance and concern is that for lighter attachments, this hitch receiver does not hold firm and I found that my bike rack bounced up and down after initial install. To correct this I hammered in a wood shim to tighten the hold. This corrected the issue.This receiver lasted a 2000 mile trip on the back of our camper without having to tighten it once!
