Review: House Shark by Brian G. Berry. Part of the SRS Cinema Collection this is a novelisation of a film (yes amazingly there is a film called house shark). The book begins with a ‘standard’ horror step up ‘babysitter tells small child all is well before getting killed’, but when I say standard you have to take into account the murder is committed by a shark that gets the poor sitter by coming out the toilet. And rather crazily the story continues to get more crazy from there. With a ‘house shark’ (literally what the beast is called in the book), a story line which mirrors Jaws bit takes place on a housing estate and all characters named after American presidents it’s clear this book is for people who don’t take their literature too seriously. I have to say though the author is very talented, and turning what I can only imagine is a TERRIBLE film into a rather interesting read is a real talent. Very stupid, very gross and actually terribly entertaining. Now I just want to watch the film 🥰
