VetGuard Plus For Dogs XLarge over 66 LBS 4 Month Supply

Protecting a dog from ticks is a very serious matter here in southeastern Wisconsin, the epicenter of disease carrying deer tick infestation in North America. How bad is it here? It's really bad. Last month, I was a little late on giving my dog his monthly application of this flea and tick product and it got to the point where I would find one or two new ticks attached to the dog every day. Two weeks ago I reapplied this product and haven't seen a tick since.I got introduced to this product about 5 years ago, when they were still selling it at Walmart. At that time I noticed that it had the same formula as the stuff I was getting from the vet for about $60. We tried it on our shaggy coated Golden retriever and found that it protected the dog from ticks very well. We have been using VetGuard ever since and it always does the job for us. It works against the kind of ticks we have around here, there is no doubt in my mind about that. I cannot comment about its effectiveness with regard to fleas because that has never been much of a problem for us.

I ordered for dogs over 66 lbs and received for dogs up to 60 lbs. Since I did not notice until after I opened it there was nothing I could do but use it. I have a white boxer who is around 70 lbs. I figured this would be close enough. I washed her with flea shampoo and made sure I washed all the blankets, sprayed the carpets and furniture and used this all on the same day. I have yet to stop getting fleas off her. I will use this for the next month and see if it gets any better, but I should see results right away and I haven't. I will spend the money and get the stuff I know works next time.

$220 vet bill. Needed allergy shots, soaks, etc. BOTH of my boys ended up with skin infections & are now on THREE different vet meds. Wouldn't eat, drink or go outside. CONSTANT itching, chewing, licking, panting, whining in pain, open wounds/bleeding. & they didn't even have fleas on the first use! Wanted it as a preventative. I thought they were gonna die. (I returned the cat ones prior to first use on them.) THANK GOODNESS! They were so nervous too. Had to buy Thundershirts and put cones on both of them. NEVER AGAIN. Love my boys too much. I'll spend the money for the right stuff from here on out.

I prefer the Vet Guard for CATS over the product for dogs. This seems much greasier than the version for cats. If you can get past the greasy streak on your pooches back for several days, than you may be happy with this. Tubes were flat and didn't see any evidence of the product on skin of dog. The smell was faint. Used more than one for application. I'm going to either a once a month treat or collar next time

It was oily and my dogs still have fleas.

the price was great, my dogs and cat don't have fleas anymore and I can afford to keep it that way. I have six dogs and one cat, I use the product on all of them with no side effects. I am very happy with this product, thank you.
