Absolutely no guess work. Filter is definitely huge and open. Highest of quality which is to be expected from a company like K&N. 0-30mph is where I feel like there’s the most power increase. Can’t speak much for fuel efficiency or gas mileage yet. With a tune I’m sure you could get much more and expect much more from the product but no tune is required and that’s why I purchased it. As a bonus it works on the 5.3 engine but the provide a coupler for the 6.2 engine/throttle body so if you have the 6.2 drop this bad boy in or if you plan to upgrade your throttle body and intake manifold to the 6.2 or already have this would make for a great addition to your set up and you should see substantial power increase with a good tune and exhaust.
