Review: Great stuff - tastes better than the Berry/Acai flavor. - Note: I also left a similar review on the page for the Chocolate flavor and the Berry flavor of this product. INTRO: I was in the market for a new superfood supplement and ran across reviews for Amazing Grass. Previously I had been taking tablet forms of spirulina, chlorella, wheat grass, and barley grass, all of which made me gag briefly due to taste and texture. I knew the health benefits of those but honestly never felt much of an energy boost from them. I was hesitant about the idea of making a shake/smoothie every day but decided to give it a shot. Knowing I would probably hate the original grass version of Amazing Grass, I initially decided to order both the Chocolate and Berry flavors, and later the ORAC. I juice fresh fruit every morning so I decided to use the Berry in the morning and Chocolate in the afternoon. I make a juice cocktail of pineapple, apple, mango, mangosteen, cherry, maqui, camu, goji, noni, pomegranate, peach, raspberry, grape, blueberry, blackberry, strawberry, and cranberry. The Amazing Grass, along with an L-Tyrosine tablet and a DLPA tablet, has become my morning coffee substitute. TASTE: As another reviewer said, the Berry/Acai flavor tastes pretty good, but the ORAC tastes fantastic. It is very fruity and sweet. I now mix it with my fruit juice cocktail in the morning with a couple ice cubes and it tastes great. I have been doing a half scoop of the ORAC and a half scoop of the Berry now together, but when the Berry runs out I will probably not re-order it, since the ORAC tastes better and basically has all the same ingredients and benefits. I plan to get the huge 100 serving tub of the ORAC when my small container runs out. I think the ORAC is definitely paired best with some sort of drink that involves fruit or fruit juice, as it will complement it, as opposed to just water or gatorade or something, as others seem to have tried. Now for the Chocolate. I definitely like the flavor of the Chocolate grass better than the Berry (who doesn't love chocolate...). In the afternoon I mix up a shake of chocolate flavored organic rice protein, raw organic cacao powder, the Chocolate Amazing Grass, chocolate Garden of Life RAW meal, flax milk, and almond milk, and it tastes fantastic with no "grassy undertones" whatsoever. I actually sometimes make 2 or 3 just because I like the taste as an afternoon snack. EFFECTS: I can definitely tell an immediate energy boost within minutes of drinking the Amazing Grass. What is great is that the effect is not a jittery, amphetamine-like boost that one would usually get from energy drinks and coffee; it is instead an "overall" energy boost and general absence of lethargy that allows you to continue about your day like usual without feeling the need for a nap or an espresso shot. Moreover, if it is not a placebo effect, I also feel like it slightly enhances my mental clarity. Besides the energy boost and great taste, it obviously feels good to know you're getting all those nutrients and superfoods in a small scoop. I am a big cacao fan so it's nice to have some extra cacao in the Chocolate Amazing Grass. Note that it is important to use Amazing Grass on an empty or light stomach so that all the nutrients are properly absorbed. Basically, if you're worried at all about flavor, I would suggest ordering the Chocolate grass and making a chocolate milkshake - maybe even consider adding a bit of organic chocolate syrup or chocolate flavored coconut ice cream. That way, you will not taste the Amazing Grass at all, which is why I like to add soy protein and cacao powder. When you open the lid, you can smell the rich chocolate flavor and it does not smell like grass at all, whereas the Berry smells and tastes a little like grass. For those wanting to lose weight, this stuff definitely curbs your appetite and almost makes it feel like you've actually eaten a small meal, especially when mixed with protein powder. Needless to say, it also cleans out your bowels very quickly each day. CONCLUSION: Compared to other superfood and holistic nutrient supplements, Amazing Grass is a relatively good value, especially from desertcart. I am very glad I found Amazing Grass and will continue to order it as my primary superfood nutrient source.
Review: Healthy Blend For Smoothies & Homemade Nutrition Bars - I've now tried this Sweet Berry flavor and the Original flavor and I like them both. Not gonna lie, they both have a distinct "greens" flavor which tastes grassy (after all is it does have GRASS in the name), but it is easily combined with other mild flavored healthy beverages to create a gentle greens flavor. TASTE: If you've had Greens Plus Energy Bars, the taste of the Original Amazing Grass is very similar. The Sweet Berry flavor is more of a strong raspberry / black currant / cherry taste so mix with juices accordingly. I like either or both flavors mixed with green tea. QUICK HEALTHY SMOOTHIE RECIPE: My general rule is that whatever you decide to mix it with, be sure to stick to a ratio of 3:1 juice to water otherwise the flavor is too concentrated. I just shake it up in a non-blender bottle and there is hardly any grit at first and then all dissolves into the drink. Here's how I formulate new smoothies daily: 1 cup fruit / vegetable juice or green tea 1/2 cup protein drink 1/2 cup water 1 scoop of Amazing Grass ^ The attached nutritional facts are for the above recipe with Diet Green Tea, Evolve Vanilla Protein Drink & Original Amazing Grass. Not bad for 28% daily fiber and 22% protein in a 105 calorie, vitamin-packed drink! More ideas: Tastes awesome mixed with pineapple juice and a dash of coconut milk. Love it with 1 tbls POM juice, 1 tbls watermelon juice and 8oz of water. Or drop the watermelon juice and add about 1/2 tsp of almond extract and it tastes like a healthy Shirley Temple! For a lighter flavor, take a few sips of a bottle of water and replace them with coconut water, then add a scoop of Sweet Berry greens - so refreshing! Also delicious in lemon water sweetened with stevia if desired. HOMEMADE NUTRITION BARS: For a make-in-advance dose of greens, I like to have homemade greens grain bars on hand. I make them different every time but here is the gist of how-to: 1.) Microwave 3 tbls Vitafiber Syrup for 2.5 minutes on power level 4 2.) While heating the syrup, mix dry ingredients: ~ 1 Scoop Amazing Greens (whichever flavor you like) ~ 2 tbls of UNFLAVORED whey protein powder ~ 1 tbls coconut flour ~ 4 tbls of nuts or grains or your choice* 3.) Once syrup is ready, stir in the dry ingredients and divide into 3rds. 4.) Shape into bars and place them individually on plastic wrap sprayed with cooking spray. 5.) Refrigerate for an hour or two and then enjoy! (Great for traveling) *Get creative. I've used combinations of chia seeds, hemp hearts, flax seeds, granola, quinoa, etc. Add Maqui or Acai powder in there too, if you want a stronger berry flavor! If the bars aren't sweet enough for your liking, add some honey into the Vitafiber syrup or a little stevia to taste. This drink mix is perfect in morning smoothies or to get you over that afternoon slump. Tastes delicious and is a nice, healthy alternative to all the junky ingredients you could be putting into your body. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great taste, and affordable

I really like this product. A greens supplement that tastes good, and only about 50 cents a serving! I usually drink it with water, but sometimes have added it to a green shake, or blended it with milk and a banana. I don’t know if it’s actually doing anything for my body, but I *feel* like I’m doing something for my body (without breaking the bank), and maybe that’s all that matters.
