I thought that when the soil was permeated to a certain level it would stop releasing water and continue releasing it slowly for several days afterward keeping the soil evenly moist. Not so. I inserted the terra cotta portion, filled the glass globe and put it on top. Within about 6 hours it had drained completely. I hadn't watered this pot in some time so I thought maybe it just needed a little more water. Overnight it drained the 2nd globe and left a puddle under the pot. It seems really, really wet. Maybe this wasn't supposed to be for indoor use? Maybe it has to be used with a specific type of potting mix? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ These work great! *by B***. on September 20, 2014* These globes work very well, especially for someone who forgets to regularly water plants! The globe holds enough water for about 2 weeks so it can also water a plant when you are gone for that length of time. The only downside is that they are rather expensive so the number I have is limited.
