Good quality, thick, durable and did NOT have a chemical smell. I have a French bulldog and he is very comfortable and calm in it. Most likely due to the ample space. Simple and elegant furniture piece as described. 1 MAJOR ISSUE - one of the long pieces that is the foundation of each screwable piece; had half drilled hole so I could only secure 1 side.
