Not good odds. If you are successful in burning a disc with these. I would think you would be able to play the disc on a blu-ray player, they are backward compatible. As you know you can only play a blu-ray disc on a blu-ray player . Please search for Verbatim product number 97693 **Q: Are these intended for printed media, or do they also work well for recording TV shoes and movies?** A: these are printable, they are DL (double layer) you can record tv shows and movies, dl was design to give you more GB's without compression. Therefore you get the recording closer to what ever the source. The Verbatim, I have found to be very reliable, I prefer the disc r+ that are not printable. You can always just write in the disc with a sharpie. This will work, unless you prefer to use a disc printer. Hope this helps and answers your questions.
