I first went to REI to try on Tevas and Chacos to see what I preferred. The arch of the Chacos was way too high for my liking and I felt that the toe strap would get on my nerves. They didn't carry the teva hurricane, but I was able to try on the teva universal and get the main idea. I was immediately sold. They were crazy comfortable and I prefer the look of them over Chacos anyway. I typically wear a size 7 1/2 or 8, but decided to go for a size 7 and they fit well, though some may prefer a little extra room at the tip. These sandals have incredible grip. I put them to the test hiking through the woods, climbing over big boulders, and through tons of river rocks. I felt secure the whole time and didn't slip once. These mold to my feet beautifully and have a slight bounce to them that feels nice. I hate change. And I loved them! Great fit! Looked great! Lightweight! And not one month later the strap broke. I am a professional dog walker and have wear and tear issues from years of running and dancing (ballet etc), my footwear is important to me, and for the strap to break was more than disappointing.When I checked to see when I ordered them it had been on June 20 of this year. Almost a month to the day. Not sure I will be sticking with Teva anymore. Been a long time customer.
