If you do not strain the liquid you will notice the ice cream is not as smooth. We use frozen strawberries all the time and I love the ice cream. We thaw them and drain the liquid off. Then I put them in a food processor before adding to vanilla ice cream recipe. It works great for us. If you plan on making an icy you just use the frozen fruit make sure it is in small chunks and put the juice in with the fruit. The recipe book will tell you how to use your frozen fruit so not to damage the Creami.
