The fermenter is about 14-3/4in tall and 9-1/4in wide. **Q: Is it exactly 3 gal or do i have extra space to compensate for the lees so I can fill the secondary perfectly?** A: It is exactly 3 gallon to the ring below the wide mouth it is a nice fermenter but thin plastic advise using a carrier. **Q: Is it clear plastic?** A: Yes it is. I have 5 of them and very satisfied **Q: Can this be used as secondary fermenter? Very thin plastic and the lid doesn’t screw off to easily since the jug flex’s a bunch making hard to remove my ferment bag. I don’t thing I’ll use in any high dollar meads but maybe beer just in case the jug can’t handle the forces or pressure required.
