I am basically using this cable to patch from the XLR on the top of my board to a patchbay at the back (Rockboard). The slots on the Rockboard are too small for an XLR head to pass through. This cable allows you to remove the housing, which let me pass it through the slots, reassembling it to connect to the patchbay at the back of the board. It works great and looks good too.
