If you don't then it's next to impossible to get the screws in the right spot and the video shows them incorrectly placed such that they won't line up. My kid had little axel extenders that connect the wheels to the motors and the video doesn't show them in place. Assembly is very simple, if you have a set of very small wrenches which I picked up from desertcart. I would like to order more** A: The nylon riser are M3 6mm height **Q: Do the motors include encoders? How do I interface with them?** A: There are no encoders included. The motor doesn't have enough room to add an encoder wheel.
