The fabric is a good looking tweed, only I wasn’t too fond of the color of the brown band with the tan tweed. I imagine the blue is quite nice in person with the brown band. I haven’t tried the self adhesive sheets so I can’t advise on that. I’m actually returning it as I ordered several options to gift my husband and a different option seemed more appropriate. The film bubbles and it leaves little black specks of paper on your photos (from the page). I pulled one piece of film up off the black page and it tore the page, making it unusable. Also, make sure to note the size of the pages, because you really can't get too close to the edges, or the film won't stick.
