So I I went with the partial refund, managed to get the tab out with a pair of pliers and the remote works ok. I can get a new remote for about £25, so I am well pleased. Found it on Amazon for the same price. Delivered the next day. I couldn’t take the tab out of the battery compartment and couldn’t open the battery compartment. Phoned customer service at Amazon, spoke to a very helpful lady who told me I could return it and get a new projector delivered or keep it and get a good % refund. Thank you Amazon. ### ⭐ Poorly manufactured QC - two units supplied defective - failed laser and faulty HDMI ports *by J***S on 10 January 2025* If I could give zero stars I would. Nothing but aggravation. The units I have been supplied with by Richer Sounds have both been faulty - clearly as a result of poor quality control: first one had a failed laser, second one had HDMI ports that couldn't lock onto a signal (and yes, I had the relevant cable tested). To compound this you cannot remove the plastic tab on the remote without damaging it - very poor design (as documented in other reviews). Richer Sounds much vaunted customer service has also been woeful in terms of the length of time it has taken me to get through to them - long telephone holds (after which I eventually gave up) and online customer support which takes forever to get an answer to. I have had a bellyful of this projector model AND Optoma and will be sourcing from a more reliable manufacturer in the future.
