For silent running get another drive. *by M***D on 29 August 2023* Purchased to store 4k rips in a Zidoo Player. It does the job but the noise is audible. I have had to put the Zidoo Player on some sound absorbing stilts to lessen the noise. I have the player inside a TV cabinet/shelf that is roughly 10 feet from where I sit to watch TV or movies. The noise isn't unbearable but I can definitely hear it when no sound is coming from the TV. The noise is at a level that will sit underneath the TV volume once you have it on. Once a film is on and you have it at a decent volume you'll only really hear the disc drive noise at a very low background noise type level.
