They do the job easily with a very quiet hum. I used them on myself for the first time ever and I was a little nervous, but it was simple and my cut turned out fantastic. It has a nice feeling in your hand the attachments easily snap on and off leaving a perfect look of the finished cut. I like how the included a bunch of accessories to use for cleaning, etc... They say don't force the clippers through your hair. And since I have very thick hair, I didn't rush through, but it still cut my thick hair with no problem.
