Wild strawberries are much smaller than regular garden strawberries, but are much more flavorful and aromatic. Garden strawberries are not from the forest they are derived from a cross between American strawberries. Wild strawberry leaves can be used dry to flavor a tea, and are also medicinal, effective for diarrhea and kidney problems. It is believed that Carl von Linne fought FMD (foot and mouth disease) using the infusion of its leaves.
