Let me explain.THE BAD:This is a flimsy design. The tubing is thin and assembly is too flexible for safe use with small or active children....or ten pound plus animals that might come across it. This is disappointing as you’d think a tripod would be a highly stable design. That is not the case with this lamp. It’s too light in the tripod. If this part of the lamp was heavier it would be considerably more sturdy. Let’s put it like this - I get why it has a foot switch rather than body switch.THE GOOD:The actual light is unique and modern. While not useful for illuminating a living room space it does a good job for things like mood or reading lighting. And for me it has a look that is very appealing.If you plan on putting this lamp in a high traffic area it will not last. In a remote or favorably calculated place this lamp will look far more capable if not more expensive looking than it has any right to. With the understanding that critters and kids may accidentally destroy this lamp or if you are in a different living situation it will make for a unique, moderately small footprint lighting solution. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars One was broken. Both were slightly cheaply made but look cool. Unfortunately on one of them the part where the round lamp part screws onto the base, it seemed to be stripped. The top broke off as soon as I put it together.The lamp is cool looking but it is just a circle of light. You can tilt it in different directions but the light goes both front and back. Might be better for a living room than a bedroom which is where I got it for. Depends on your decor, I guess. I'm glad I am able to keep one.
