But no--hey are whole and so chewy and so sweet, I am so pleased. Also since they are whole, they little seeds are still in there but they are soft and very small and easy to deal with. It is so worth it to get this fruit from this company because this fruit is always soft and chewy, not dry and brittle. I don't know how they do this but I love it. The peaches were wonderful that I ordered for Xmas last year for my friends and family. They make a great present. You can eat most whole, but some of the larger ones may have a few seeds for you to spit out.I'm very satisfied.However I will note that although it says no sugar added, pears are naturally high sugar fruits, and I guess either this variety or the drying process brings out that sugar even more, because these gave a sugar rush (quite reliably, 3 different times).Per the package it's almost 10g sugar (2.5 teaspoons) per piece!
