After you have begun to master the game with one laser, can you up the ante and handle three? The beamsplitter piece splits one laser beam into two when hit by reflecting half of the beam and transmitting the other half right through for twice the strategy and excitement! With both pieces in play, the beam can be split twice blasting three lasers around the field with one push of the button! Each expansion pack includes two Beamsplitter pieces, one silver and one red, and a full color booklet including brand new starting setups and science explanations. NOTE: This version of the Beamsplitter is not compatible with the original Khet or Deflexion game.

Poor quality manufacturing
Khet is a great product, and i would give 4-5 stars for this (albeit overpriced) expansion. However, unfortunately this is another shining example of cutting corners in manufacturing. The beamsplitters are just not properly aligned, causing the lasers to miss, often after only a few bounces. This completely removes the enjoyment of the expansion.Other reviewers have commented that you can simply "figure out" where the laser should go and "pretend" it hits. Obviously you can do that, but in that case just tape a piece of paper on one of the existing pieces and "pretend" it's a beamsplitter. You can save $20.

Perfect addition to Khet 2.0
I luckily read the reviews of the beam splitter before buying the original one I found as the original one does not fit the 2.0 board. This splitter fits the Khet 2.0 board and works wonderfully. After the beam hits this piece the two beams that emerge are more than strong enough to weave a maze through mirrors and kill the Pharoh! The pieces are very good quality and they come with an additional 2 different beginning setups for the game (along with the original 3 modified to use the eye of horus). This was exactly what I was hoping it would be.5 stars all around.

Add-on that adds challenge.
My kids (ages 10, 10, and 12) all love this add-on. It makes the game more challenging!Remember, this is an add-on piece. It is no good on its own so you need to purchase the original game if you haven't done so already! :-)This game has taught my kids about angles and learning direction of reflection.Red laser: The box says that the red laser is not harmful to the eyes. However, I told my kids that we are not putting our trust in that statement so we still exercise caution with the use of the lasers. My concern as a parent was how to keep track of this extra piece! I'm glad to report that it fits just fine in with the original game.

Adds a great twist to an already interesting games
Boggles my non math, non physics mind. Adds a great twist to an already interesting games. It looks like the scarobs but as the light travels to this piece, it both reflects and allows the beam to pass thru at another angle. Perfect for taking yourself out if you are not paying attention. (Speaking from experience.)This version is for the 2.0 game, not the original. Make sure you select the correct version for your game board.

A very needed piece!
My son has been dying to get this . He's in his last year in high school and has a free period which he uses to play this game with his buds. They are all addicted to this game and he is going to blow their minds when he shows up with these beam splitters! It fits perfectly on the game board and the quality is pretty good, it actually splits the laser , when he showed me I was impressed.

Simple, really:
If you like Khet, you should get this. It adds not just variety, but new ways to think about strategy and tactics. It doesn't "totally change the game," but it's refreshingly different. Also, it's cheap. If you don't like Khet, or don't even have it...well, do you need a beam splitter?

Great game to play with 1 chess lover and one NOT chess lover :)
This game has been a favorite 2 player game... it seems to attract the "chess" type of player, as well as people who do not like chess but enjoy an uncomplicated strategy game. It's very easy to learn. We got it about 6 months ago and it easily gets pulled out a few times a month as the game of choice.

Mind = blown. Better then chess.
My 8 year old son and I are engulfed in this game. It's truly amazing. The beam splitters add a crazy challenging dimension, when the laser passes through both splitters, 3 separate red beams zoom around the board. Seriously cool.
