Please check with your veterinarian before feeding them to your dog. I feed canned salmon to mine. The processing makes salmon bones brittle enough to mash up for feeding without issues and its a good source of calcium but I checked with Annie's doctor before adding canned salmon to her home cooked meals. You should also be concerned about sodium as well. Wild Planet sardines contain what I think is a normal amount of sodium but again we're talking about a dog so check with the doctor! **Q: Are these smoked or cooked in any way?** A: I believe they are lightly smoked and adequately cooked, but perfectly so. Have never tasted any others so tender and flavorful. I like the ones with lemon even better. Sadly my warehouse store discontinued them as did WF.
