The oats are heavy and thick once prepared, and they are also the predominant flavor that you'll taste while eating this oatmeal. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but some folks like a tad more fruity flavor in their oatmeal in the morning (myself included).I've tasted better oatmeal over the course of my forty plus years on this earth, and based on the price point alone, I would probably steer away from these oats until the flavor improves. In my current work space, bringing a bowl to microwave my oatmeal is not possible so an oatmeal that cooks in its own container is a bonus. I put hot water from the coffee maker in rather than tap water so I got a good cook in a minute in the microwave.A lot of microwaveable oatmeal is made with really small chopped pieces of oats so it looks like mush when it is cooked. This has full rolled oats so you get a better mouth feel. I got the Fruit & Nuts flavor which also has dried blueberries and nuts plus cinnamon. It is really delicious.My only qualm about this flavor is that between the dried fruit and the added sugar there are 21 grams of sugars in it.
