This veneer should be applied by a competent person with an understanding of wood. We send guidance notes with the veneer. Very briefly: starting at one end with the iron on a medium to hot setting (depending on the iron) run the iron up and down the grain several times until the veneer is bonded, following with a block to rub the veneer with some pressure to ensure a good bond. If possible, it is worth having a practice with an off cut before moving on to the main project. We have found that applying a coat of PVA to the substrate and letting it dry seems to generate greater adhesion. Also, if any bubbles appear later on this method helped bond the affected area back down. PLEASE NOTE: NEW, UNTREATED WOOD IS ALMOST ALWAYS MUCH LIGHTER THAN EXISTING, FINISHED WOOD. Many thanks. Great for Kitchen doors, drawers, shelves and furniture. A wood finish (eg. varnish/lacquer, wax, oil) should be used after application. These veneers can be stained after application (before applying a finish as above). Please also note that this item photo is a representation only. This is a natural wood product and will therefore vary in colour and grain structure.
