There are no instructions so I used someone else's feedback to work it. Needless today you have to pull the two sides apart to turn it into a sort of cone shape. The mask itself is really comfortable and seems to have a pretty good seal for the price. There are elastic bands which come pre-attached and given that I have quite a small head, they definitely kept the mask in place well. I really like that they can lie perfectly flat so it makes it incredibly easy for me to keep it in a handbag when I'm travelling around the city. I use them in London on really heavy traffic days. The masks do not have any separate vents so I would imagine that they will get pretty hot.
